Suspect with explosive device arrested after being turned away at Thousand Islands

A 47-year-old man from Tennessee is facing weapon-related charges after an arrest at the Thousand Islands border crossing.
Members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Canada Border Services Agency conducted a joint investigation on June 30, following the rejection of a United States traveller with a restricted firearm and an explosive device at the border.
As a result of the investigation, James Alan Grove was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following:
- Possession of a restricted firearm Section 95(b)
- Possession of an explosive substance Section 82(1)
The accused remains in custody and the investigation is on-going.
