Parents, guardians and students at two schools under the Upper Canada District School Board have been given notice that at least one individual at their school has tested positive for COVID-19.
Within the last 24 hours, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit confirmed that the two schools involved were Kemptville Public School and Bridgewood Public School in Cornwall.
The health units said the individuals were not at school while infectious, so there was no exposure within the school environment.
Kemptville Public School remains open and operating on its regular daily schedule.
Bridgewood, however, has transitioned to remote learning as of Thursday, due to staffing issues related to the pandemic.
It's unknown if there is more than one person at each school who have tested positive, or if they involve students or staff.
