The Ottawa Japanese Community looking to respond after tragedy in Japan

The Ottawa Japanese Community Association are currently in discussion on how to address new events and fundraisers to get support over to Japan.
Nancy Uchida is an organizer for the Japanese Community Association, and says members are in talks about what the organization can do.
“We’re wondering what the best way to this is, and what we can do,” said Uchida.
She goes on to say that there are many board members, some of them still trying to make contact with relatives in Japan.
“One of the board members has her mother in Japan, and she thinks that it will be hard because the power may be out, ” Uchida mentioned.
Next month the Japanese Cultural Centre is hosting a baazar that is currently set to generate funds for the centre, but may change depending on what members decide.
