War museum unveils 1812 exhibit

OTTAWA-There is a new addition to the Canadian War Museum.
To mark its 200th anniversary, an exhibit of the War of 1812 is being showcased.
It features 130 artifacts, including a piece of the White House burnt during war.
President and CEO of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation, Mark O’Neill told 1310News the exhibit gives visitors an unusual perspective on the war.
“A lot of exhibits and projects that examine battles, they tend to look at some very definitive issues about the various sides involved in battles and the machinery of battle and the history of war,” he said. “This particular exhibit let’s people look at the perspective of the four principle intervenors in this war. Who were they? What was the impact of the war on them? What were the consequences?”
The exhibit runs from Wednesday until January 6th.
