OTTAWA – Friday could be a wintery day in the capital.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement, Tuesday, warning of the possibility of what it calls a “significant” snowfall.
The weather service says snow is “likely” in Ottawa, Friday. It also says ice pellets are possible along the St. Lawrence River.
The statement also covers a large swatch of southern Ontario. In the Toronto area, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued.
A watch means severe weather is possible, whereas a warning means it is imminent or occuring.
No warnings have been issued yet — but Environment Canada warns of poor travel conditions and possible power outages.
