Humidity expected to stick around capital region

OTTAWA – Ottawa Public Health cancelled a heat warning that had been in effect for Sunday, however, sweltering heat and humidity is not expected to go anywhere just yet.

A special weather statement remains in effect for Ottawa and parts of Southern Ontario.

“Sunday through Monday, the humidex readings will be anywhere from 37-40 C, it’s important to drink lots of fluids and remember to look after young children and older folk and pets,” said 1310News meteorologist Harold Hosein. “Do not leave pets in closed cars.”

The humidity is expected to stick around until at least Tuesday when we could see some easing.
