Guilty verdict in Marc Leduc murder case

OTTAWA–A guilty verdict has been handed down at the Elgin Street courthouse in the murder trial of Marc Leduc.

The 59-year old has been found guilty in the vicious murders of two women, Pamela Kosmack, 39, and Leeanne Lawson, 23.

The sex workers were killed three years apart.

Kosmack’s badly beaten body was found near a bike path in Britannia Park in June of 2008.

Three years later, Lawson’s body was discovered face down near a Hydro Ottawa substation on King Edward Avenue.

Both women were found naked from the waist down, their bodies showing signs of being beaten around the head.

Leduc pleaded not guilty to the murders.

The verdict carries an automatic life term, with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Victim impact statements were read into the court record.
