Man charged with manslaughter, aggravated assault in MacLaren Street highrise fall

OTTAWA – One man has been charged in connection to a death in Centretown earlier this week.
Around 10:50 p.m. Monday, patrol officers were called to a 16th floor apartment at 415 MacLaren Street for reports of a disturbance.
Several people were inside the apartment when the fight broke out between the victim, Ahmad Afrah, 19, and another man.
According to the Citizen, the fight moved to the balcony, where Afrah climbed over the balcony to escape his attacker.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground, with severe injuries.
He died at scene.
Liban Gure, 29, appeared in court Thursday where he was charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
