Freezing rain warning in effect for first winter storm of the season

OTTAWA – Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Ottawa region for this weekend’s storm.

Freezing rain is expected periodically on Saturday, changing to snow overnight.

On Sunday, anywhere between 5 and 10 centimeters of snow is expected in the city.

Things are expected to clear up by Sunday afternoon.

Police are reminding drivers who are out on the roads this weekend to keep it slow, and make sure there’s lots of space between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
