Fire in Kars destroys home with multiple apartments

A number of people have been displaced after a fire destroyed a house containing separate apartments in Kars.
Ottawa Fire Services received two calls Monday night around 8:30 p.m. from the occupants of 6223 Second Line Road South, reporting smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building.
With the described fire conditions and the high winds crews declared a working fire while en route to the scene.
All occupants and their pets evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported.
It took fire crews two and a half hours to put out the blaze.
The Red Cross and the Salvation Army are assisting those affected by the incident.
A fire investigator has been called in to determine the cause.
