By Alex Black

One person had to be extricated from their vehicle after a rollover in Vars.

Just after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 23, Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a report from the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) that a Nissan Versa hatchback had flipped over into the ditch on McVaugh Road.

According to OFS, they received an update a few minutes later that an officer from Ottawa By-law and Regulatory Services had come across the vehicle, and reported that the driver was injured and trapped inside the car.

The by-law officer entered the car to provide first aid to the driver until emergency crews arrived on scene and stabilized the vehicle, allowing paramedics access.

The patient was initially assessed by Prescott-Russell Paramedics, before being transferred into the care of Ottawa Paramedics.
