Employee at Orléans’ Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex tests positive for COVID-19

A City of Ottawa Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services employee is self-isolating after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

The city says the person last worked at the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex in Orléans on November 30, and was asymptomatic at the time. After receiving news that a family member had tested positive for COVID-19, the employee did not come to work and went for a test on December 4.

A positive test was confirmed on December 5.

The city says it's working with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to conduct contact tracing of anyone who has, or may have been, in close contact with the employee.

The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department says it continues to follow enhanced daily cleaning protocols at each of its facilities.

Anyone with concerns about potential exposure can contact Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744 to speak to a public health nurse, or visit ottawapublichealth.ca.
