Hiking trail in Kanata area being monitored after bear sighting

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is monitoring the Kanata area of the old quarry trail after a bear was spotted on Sunday, Sept. 25. 

According to an OPS release, use of the trail is being restricted and residents are asked to be cautious if a bear is encountered.

Residents are reminded to contact the OPS by calling 613-236-1222 if a bear is an imminent danger to their safety.
