Bank Street construction impacting Billings Bridge Transitway

For the next two weeks, OC Transpo buses stopping at Billings Bridge Station will have to use detours, possibly causing delays to commuters.

According to a press release from the City of Ottawa, starting on Nov. 22 until Dec. 2, buses will have turning restrictions at the Bank Street and Billings Bridge Station intersection.

Buses both north and southbound will face impacts. Instead, buses will detour along Riverside Drive and Data Centre Road to access the station.

The city says residents should check the OC Transpo website for alerts and detours related to their commutes.

Construction is a part of the Bank Street renewal project, a long-term plan to revitalize the roadway with areas specific for vehicles, transit, cyclists and pedestrians. Mounted curbs and beautifying the area with trees, grassed sections and lights are included.

Part of the project includes the reconstructions of the sanitary sewer, storm sewer and watermains.
