Carleton Place resident charged with harassment following incident in Perth

A Carleton Place resident has been charged after an incident involving a young woman in Perth.

OPP report on the afternoon of Jan. 19, the woman had just left a grocery store in Perth when she was confronted by a man. The individual allegedly prevented the woman from closing her car door and proceeded to make inappropriate comments. Police say the man ran off when the woman grabbed her cell phone.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of 40-year-old Colin Reid. Reid, from Carleton Place, is a former Ottawa resident.

He has been charged with forcible confinement and criminal harassment.

The accused was release from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Mar. 3.
