It will start out as the perfect summer day, but will eventually turn into a sticky mess in the nation’s capital.
Environment Canada is predicting the humidity will climb over the weekend, resulting in extremely high temperatures on Sunday and into early next week.
To kick off the weekend, the city is receiving a sunny, perfectly “normal” Friday with a high of 25 C. Wind blowing in from the northeast will cool things slightly to a low of 13 C before the humidity rolls in.
Saturday, the weather agency is calling for increasing cloudiness in the afternoon, with a chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm.
The high will be 27 C, but factoring in the humidex, it’ll feel more like 30.
Sweaty temperatures will continue on Sunday with a high of 31 C with a mix of sun and cloud.
The long-range forecast from Environment Canada is showing temperatures are set to rise even higher on Monday, with an expected 35 C possible, factoring in the humidex.
While the warm air appears to be sticking around, the weather agency says there are chances of showers all next week.
