Car’s tire flies off on Highway 417

Police say that a scary situation turned out fine for the mother and her baby after one of her vehicle’s tires fell off.
Provincial police say the incident happened on Monday morning while the mother was driving on Highway 417. Officers were called to the scene shortly after 9:00 a.m.
The driver told police she had just gotten her summer tires put on. OPP shared the story to make sure people retorque their tires in summer and fall to avoid the same situation.
“A wheel coming off at those speeds can be a danger to both the person driving the car and anyone the tire might hit,” police said.
