Man charged with impaired operation after short foot chase

A man has been charged with impaired operation after a foot pursuit and an altercation with police.

OPP responded to the area of Bruce Street in the Township of Bonnechere Valley shortly after 10 p.m. on Aug. 10 after receiving complaints about a driver.

During the interaction with police, OPP say the driver fled on foot and a short foot pursuit and altercation ensued.

Justin Yeas, 30, from Eganville, Ont., was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing.

He has now been charged with impaired operation.

The accused’s license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
