Prom party ends with Ottawa teen facing charges

Ontario Provincial Police attended a party in Lanark County and laid charges against a teenager over the weekend.

According to the press release, officers were called to a prom party in Drummond-North Elmsley Township on Sept. 27 around 11:30 p.m. They were called by someone who said that a large group of people had been pepper-sprayed. Police also learned that the person was also involved in a physical altercation before leaving the area.

That person was later stopped by Ottawa police.

As a result, Jasper Rohani, 18, of Ottawa, is facing charges of:

  • Administer a noxious thing
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

The accused was released from custody and was scheduled to appear in court in Perth on Oct. 27.
