Chocolate returns to Smiths Falls’ former Hershey factory

Smiths Falls is once again making chocolate, but not quite the same kind that used to roll off the line at the former Hershey plant.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony, Friday, will celebrate Canopy Growth's partnership with Hummingbird Chocolate.

The partnership has seen chocolate production return to the town, after the Hershey plant closed in the 2000s.

Canopy Growth is expanding its Tweed brand into the edibles market, with cannabis-infused chocolate and drinks.
