Man charged following business theft incident in Trenton, Ont.

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a shoplifting incident in Trenton. 

According to an OPP release, on Sept. 15, at approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a shoplifting in progress at a business on Dundas Street East in Trenton. 

A male allegedly stole approximately $500 in grocery items and electronics, and when confronted by staff, took off running. 

Officer obtained a description of the accused and located him a short distance away, where he was arrested.

Adam Conder, 35, from Quinte West, has been charged with theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Sept. 16, 2022.
