Employee at Ray Friel Recreation Complex tests positive for COVID-19

By Mike Vlasveld

A City of Ottawa employee is in self-isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

The employee last worked at the Ray Friel Recreation Complex in Orléans on Tuesday, September 7, and was asymptomatic at the time.

Upon receiving news that a close contact had tested positive for the virus, the employee got tested on September 12 and received a positive result on September 13.

The city says its Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department continues to follow enhanced daily cleaning protocols at each of its facilities.

If customers have concerns of exposure, they can contact Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744 to speak to a public health nurse or visit ottawapublichealth.ca.
