Ottawa firefighters and paramedics helped an individual who was trapped under a tree on Flewellyn Road, between Conley and Munster Road in Stittsville on Monday, April 25.
Ottawa Fire Services received a call from paramedics reporting an individual who was cutting trees on their property and was trapped after a tree fell on them. Firefighters arrived at the scene where the individual was pinned face down under a large tree that was vertically in the air. Firefighters lifted the tree off the person, and strapped the tree and held onto it so paramedics could tend to the individual.
The individual was put on a backboard and paramedics used a stokes basket to remove the person from the area and they were transported by paramedics into an air ambulance.
With the large tree pinning the individual, time was an issue so @OttFire Firefighters had to quickly lift the tree off the individuals back. #OttNews pic.twitter.com/nNc2wSR1PW
