Two former University of Ottawa hockey players have been found not guilty of sexual assault in Thunder Bay.
Guillaume Donovan and David Foucher had faced charges related to an incident, which was alleged to have happened in a Thunder Bay hotel room back in 2014 while they were in the city for a hockey tournament.
The court heard that a woman had consensual sex in a hotel with a member of the Gee Gees hockey team, after they met through an online dating app.
The woman then testified that she was sexually assaulted by Foucher and Donovan.
The defence claimed that she was embarrassed by the threesome, and made up the story.
Following the allegations, the University of Ottawa suspended the men's hockey program through to the 2015-2016 season.
