Storm causes power outage in parts of the city

A storm that came through the capital on Sunday, July 24 left power outages to several people in Ottawa's west end.
Environment Canada issued a severe warning on Sunday afternoon just after 4 p.m. saying meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm of capable of producing heavy rain and strong winds.
Hydro Ottawa tweeted that a tree down on a line knocked out power to over 70 customers in the Merivale Gardens area.

The severe thunderstorm warning ended just before 5 p.m.
