Wynne looking forward to campaign, not taking Ford lightly

By OttawaMatters Staff

Now that the Progressive Conservative leadership question is settled, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is looking forward to a “respectful and engaged” debate on the issues facing the province as voters ponder who to support in the June election.

In an interview on 1310 NEWS' Ottawa Today with Mark Sutcliffe, the Premier said she did not have a “preferred” opponent out of the leadership race, since all of the candidates were talking about the same things: cutting government and supports, saying no to carbon tax, and scrapping the province's cap-and-trade program.

What Wynne said she is not doing, is taking PC leader Doug Ford lightly.

“It takes a lot of courage to put your name on a ballot and put yourself and your family out there,” she added. “So, I hope that we're going to have a respectful and really engaged debate over the next few weeks because there's a lot at stake.”
