One dead in Russell Township four-vehicle collision

A four-vehicle collision near the Town of Embrun has left one person dead.
Six others suffered non life-threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to Ottawa hospitals.
The collision occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on St. Guillaume Road in Russell Township said Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
“Despite concerted efforts by police, fire and ambulance personnel who attempted to revive one of the involved motorists, identified as Jean Guertin, 86 years of age from Russell, Ontario. Guertin was pronounced dead at the scene,” said police.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of OPP Traffic Collision Investigators and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
