Public consultation to start for new Rideau River footbridge at Carleton U

By OttawaMatters Staff

A footbridge across the Rideau River, connecting Carleton University with Vincent Massey Park, is finally moving to the public consultation stage.

Planning for the bridge has been underway since the federal government earmarked $775,000 for a study into the project, back in 2016.

Capital Ward City Councillor Shawn Menard tweeted on Monday evening, the footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists will be discussed virtually next Tuesday, June 23.

The online opportunity will be held between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.

Menard expects more details to be released shortly.
