Attempted murder among list of charges laid after Carleton Place home invasion

A 44-year-old Carleton Place man is facing a number of weapon-related charges, as well as one count of attempted murder, after an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into a home invasion.

Police were called to a home on Townline Road East, between Bridge Street and James Street, on Saturday, March 27, after reports that gunshots had been fired. 

Officers say one person sustained minor injuries unrelated to the gunshots. The firearm believed to have been used in the incident has been recovered by police and officers say there was no concern for the safety of the general public.

The accused is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing on March 31.
 
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information related to this incident to contact the Lanark County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
