Police looking for information regarding Heron Gate drive-by shooting

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a shooting which happened at the intersection of Baycrest Drive and Walkley Road in the city's Heron Gate neighbourhood.

Officers responded to a call for a vehicle possibly damaged by bullets and men walking away from it on Southmore Drive in Riverside South, around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15.   

When police arrived on the scene, they say two men returned to the vehicle and after being confronted by officers about possible bullet holes on the vehicle, they admitted they had been shot at a half-hour prior at the Heron Gate intersection. 

Police later found spent shell casings at Baycrest Drive and Walkley Road.  

No one was injured in the shooting.

The suspect vehicle is described as a large black sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this incident. They are also looking for anyone who may have been in the area and may have dashcam footage or security footage.
