The City of Ottawa says to expect delays due to the closure of a major west-side road.
Scott Street will be closed to traffic in both directions, from Bayview Station Rd to Parkdale Ave, beginning Monday at 7:00 a.m. The work is for pre-scheduled repairs along a particular section of the underground watermain.
Scott St will be detoured in both directions via Bayview Station Rd N, Burnside Ave, and Parkdale Ave. Local traffic through the area will still be maintained.
Public Transit
Those relying on OC Transpo buses in the area will need to find alternative stops for their commute. OC Transpo stops 7332, 8045, 7334, and 7333 will be temporarily closed during the construction work. Temporary bus stops will be added along the aforementioned detour route.
The 12, 13, 57, 61, and 75 bus routes should all expect some delays due to the detours required by the project.
More information on the impact of the detour on specific routes and stops can be found at octranspo.com
Pedestrians and Cyclists
Pedestrian traffic will still be maintained in both directions along Scott St during the construction.
Cyclists will need to detour at the road mentioned above, though they can choose to dismount their bike and walk along the pedestrian route if more convenient.
The City of Ottawa reminds commuters to plan ahead and anticipate extra travel time along the route.
