Vehicle collides with traffic light; lane closures in Orleans

Several lanes are closed on southbound Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at Innes Road after a vehicle collided with a stoplight early this morning.

It occurred just before 5 a.m. and a witness called 9-1-1 when the vehicle fled the scene.

The vehicle was located a distance away and safely stopped by Ottawa Police.

The driver, a 21-year-old, has been charged with failure to remain and impaired driving.

Officers remain on scene directing traffic awaiting repairs to the light.
